The 5 Most Popular Luxury & Royal Interior Colour Arrangements

What are the best 5 luxury colour sets you can use in your home. These colours are being used in royal families’ palaces, from the ball rooms to the drawing rooms.

It can be a little bit tricky to choose our colours in our home to achieve a luxurious look. Sometimes we can be afraid to go over the top or the opposite and just have a too basic interior design. Live like royalty and apply these colours in your home! Let me make your life easier, I collected the best 5 colours and some recommended colour combinations for you. Enjoy!

  1. Blue

Royal blue is a deep and vivid shade of blue. It is said to have been created by a consortium of mills in Rode, Somerset, which won a competition to make a robe for Queen Charlotte, consort of King George III. In winning the prize, a business in the village invented the dye and received a certificate to sell it under that name. So if it was good for Queen Charlotte it might be a good fit for a luxurious interior too.
The hexadecimal RGB code of Royal Blue colour is #002366.

2. Red

Red is considered a Royal colour (that and blue are the main colours) they can be found in almost every coat-of-arms. Red wasn’t adapted until fabrics were used during the crusades (12th century). Rich red hues are apparent in many royal rooms. Incorporating red into your space will evoke an energetic and bold atmosphere, whilst also adding warmth to the space.  It also portrays elegance and a touch of class. Red is a notoriously difficult colour to style, so I would recommend looking for deep, rich-toned red hues that work well in carpets and rugs, especially when using a vintage pattern.

Royal Red has the hex code #AB2330

3. Purple

“Tyrian purple” is the contemporary English name of the colour that in Latin is denominated “purpura“. Other contemporary English names for purpura are “imperial purple” and “royal purple”.  Alexander the Great, when giving imperial audiences as the emperor of Macedonia; the emperor of the Seleucid Empire; and the kings of Ptolemaic Egypt all wore Tyrian purple. The colour of kings was notoriously difficult to access in ancient times and even relegated specifically for regal use.

The hex code for Royal Purple is #561D5E.

4. White

White is a more modern approach, however mixed with the right colours and style it can create a beautiful and luxurious interior. White is very delicate colour – often associated with royalty and spirituality – signals a return to a luxury ideal that is cherished, and sees the creation of items and environments that require care, attention to detail and reverence. My personal favourite is the white colour paired with gold accents.

The pure white hex colour code is #ffffff.

5. Green

On this picture you can see interior of the Palace of Fontainebleau: inner apartment of the Emperor, Napoleon: Emperor’s room in the Palace of Fontainebleau. Green especially dark green is a great colour for luxurious, royal interiors. Emerald green symbolizes royalty and wealth, mostly because of its associations with gemstones. It is also commonly associated with money, and Dollar Bill is a colour that gets close to the green on the dollar bill.

Royal Green has the hex code #0C5D25
